The Weekly had an opportunity to speak with Hydrah (Katie Kramarczuk) and Anakim (Riccardo LeBron), through whom this writer learned of the ancient influences that drive their respective beats. From the extensive list of DJs that performed throughout the weekend at any of the four stages-or at one of the campground’s silent discos-every guest had their favorites, which varied in terms of EDM subgenre and chart rank. Alternatingly, they relaxed in one of several misty shaded canopies or, for those who had rented space at the adjacent campground area, retired to their tents to recuperate. Protected by sunscreen, attendees flew their freak flags high showcased their rave fashions, booties and bitties marveled at the spectacles of the festival’s stage designs, art installations and one another guzzled liters of water and, of course, danced, danced and danced some more. The prevailing positive vibes allowed patrons to enjoy themselves despite temperatures that briefly got into the 100s. Without probing too deeply, any casual observer could witness the usual cornucopia of colorful sights and sounds which permeated the atmosphere. ![]() ![]() As reported in OC Weekly, this was the electronic dance music (EDM) festival’s final instance at this location, and counting total attendance on both days, 80,000 energetic ravers turned up to mark the occasion by dancing to numerous sets of penetrating electronic music. As the heavyweight promotional company held its annual Nocturnal Wonderland at Glen Helen Regional Park in San Bernardino, plenty of activity was on display. There is always a lot of action happening on multiple levels at an Insomniac event. Winners of the Lancashire Tourism Awards ‘Large Event Award’ 2019 and nominated as one of the best ice-rinks in the UK & Europe by the Guardian Newspaper, in previous year the attraction has included Christmas Market Stalls, a Giant Tipi Bar, 800m real ice, Ice-Rink and now, the Big Wheel.įull details and ticket information is set to be announced in the coming days.Nocturnal Wonderland 2019. It’s operated by The Borough, who earlier this yeast submitted proposals to the city council which could see the attraction extended to include a carousel and a Santa's Grotto. The story of Lancaster on Ice began in November 2018, when the historic Dalton Square hosted an ice rink for the very first time, with real ice skating around the Queen Victoria Memorial at the centre. The winter wonderland attraction in Dalton Square will be back between November 25th and January 8th. The wheel offers wheelchair access in its cars so all customers can enjoy views over Lancaster and beyond. The 100 metre high big wheel is the largest transportable wheel in the UK, and will open on December 9. Organisers of Lancaster on Ice have announced the return of the Big Wheel to the attraction. ![]()
